We're really trying to push pre-registration this year for one major reason: so that we can provide enough sustenance to cover our riders and staff.
The past two years, people have been able to get meals at the local restaurant in Madison... Unfortunately, that building came burning down last March, leaving the town restaurant-less. Since we typically like to have a place for people to eat the night before and the morning of the ride, the Chamber of Commerce and High School have graciously agreed to provide food. We need to provide these organizations a head count in order to make sure that everyone is fed. We also need an accurate head count so that we can plan on having enough food for the SAGs as well as the post-ride celebration banquet.
Due to past experience of running out of food at the banquet, we've added a late registration fee this year. We highly recommend that you register before July 17th, 2010 to avoid paying the fee and to help us make sure that everyone gets to grub. We understand that schedules can be tricky to figure out, and we love having people register the day of the ride, but it's difficult to plan on having food for those who register late than it is for those who let us know they'll be there ahead of time.
