On the Road to Madison, KS
Not only do we have people getting lost on the "Flint Hills Death Ride", but we have had people get lost just trying to get to the ride. We have included these handy little directions to explain to you exactly where in this world Madison, Kansas is. For those of you who are thinking, "It's in the middle of nowhere", you are right. If you have any questions about how to get here that aren't answered by these directions, give us a call.
Madison is a fairly easy town to find. It is directly south of Emporia, KS on the combined highways of Highway 57 and Highway 99. The Kansas Turnpike, Interstate 335, runs into Emporia from Wichita coming from the South and Topeka from the North. If you are coming up from the south on the turnpike, our suggestion would be to take the El Dorado exit, Highway 54, drive east on Hwy 54 and then go north on Hwy 99 when you catch it just east of Eureka, KS.
If you are coming from the Kansas City area, just get onto Interstate 35 and come to Emporia via Ottawa, KS. If you plan to come in from the west on Interstate I-70, get off on KS Highway 177 just south of Manhattan, KS and take it to Highway 50. Take Highway 50 west to Emporia and then head South on Hwy 99. Again, if you have any questions about how best to get to Madison and the "Flint Hills Death Ride", do not hesitate to contact us!
However, if you reside in Kansas, we will be concerned about your lack of ability to access Kansas geographic information, especially if you have internet access. We then must ask ourselves, "Is this someone who can survive the Death Ride and return home?" And we may have to refuse to provide further directional assistance.
